Happy Birthday to ME

Always needing a little help when baking a birthday cake with RED food coloring.

So I found this adorable site on Etsy- Parties by Hardie- where you can download and print your own birthday...stuff. I mean there is everything you can imagine. We were only having a family birthday party but I wanted Evan to feel like it was his special day. It was easy to print and cut out everything. And I wanted to use everything. It was so cute. I made stickers to put on the cups and his shirt is an iron that I put put on white fabric and then stitched onto his shirt. And it matches everything.

My Birthday Treats

I made these super cute treats for Evan to take to school for his third birthday. He was so excited to share them with his friends. They are no where near as cute as the one's Bakerella makes but they are a good start. And he LOVED them.

Those cozy little hats.

Gram would be so proud we have on our homemade hats- and I have on her sweater too.

No nothing is wrong with your screen. That is his dirty face. And a smile. For some reason he thinks he needs to squint.

In a pose that is reminiscent of the 70's. Why is that?

Just eating his required 200-600mg of dirt for the day.

Wright's Lake

Ethan and his lunch lounging in the hammock- sans shirt. This boy really likes to take off his shirt. I think if he did not have to wear shirts he would be all right with that.

Of course, I had to bring crafts. We don't have days without crafting time. Love my girl. That is a lady bug by the way.

A not so bad photo of the six of us.

Wright's Lake

Our last-as of this writing- camping trip of the year was the last weekend in Septemeber. It was a beautiful weekend with really cool nights, okay cold, and warmer days. A great way to end the camping season.

The kids found that they loved walking on logs and jumping over rocks in the little stream. We only had one little slip.

And some people would prefer to dress themselves.

Who Says You Can't Eat Out of the Compost Pile?

This little man has found his way into the cupboards. I had just peeled some sweet potatoes when the phone rang- I walked into the other room thinking I would be able to get away for a minute. As my converstation continued I wondered aloud what this little guy was up to, he just is not the quiet type. Wandering back into the kitchen, I found this. He was actually eating the peels. Thankfully it was all fresh compost material, because that is NOT always the case. The really ironic part was that his dad was sitting at the counter on the other side of the island and never heard a thing.

Madsie and Soccer

This is Madsie's first year playing soccer. She enjoyed the practices a lot more than the games, mostly because she was always doing something and got to kick the ball A LOT more than she does during the game. But she likes talking to her little friends and sitting on the sidelines eating fruit while the other half of her team plays. It has been a really great intro to soccer. We will see where it takes us.

91 Year Span

My amazing grandparents were able to make a trip up to my mom's house this fall. We made sure that we were able to get up to her house to see them for a visit. Thankfully we are able to see them more often when we travel to see Mike's family, but it was really nice to see them up at my mom's. At 92 and 88 you have to give them a whole lot of credit for flying across the state just for a change of scenery. And you can never pass up a photo opportunity for a fourth generation gathering.

And for Grammie too! Not a 91 year old span though.

Underwear- An Option

Did you know they are an option? They were on when I got him dressed- so...the question then is where did they go?

But he is so darn cute you can't really get mad. And it probably felt pretty good- or so I am told.

First Attempt At Christmas Pictures

I should have known from the beginning that it wasn't going to work. The odds of getting four kids- seven and under- to all look at the camera at the same time are just not high. So if you don't get a Christmas card this year with a picture of my kids- you can see why.
