Memorial Day

I am truly grateful that there is this thing called Cub Scouts that invites my boys to participate in acts of honor and solemnity. We are so lucky to be able to remember these men and women. We have so much and it is a privilege to be able to give something back.

Teacher's Gifts

So right now I am really into vinyl...okay so that doesn't sound right. Here is the story. I really wanted to make a shower cap. You know, I can't wash my hair EVERY day or the color won't last as long! So I remembered back to when I was in college and worked at this boutique where we sold these very cute shower caps. I found an adorable one online through the Kath Kidston website but the shipping from England is CRAZY. So I went to Beverly's and found this cute polka dot vinyl. But I never got around to making that shower cap. Instead I made these cute little lunch bags and zippered pouches. I found the tutorial here at three bears. I sort of just made up the pattern for the lunch bags, but I know there must be something out there. Anyway I thought they were pretty darn cute. And my friend DeAnna made an armful as well and her boys voted on which teacher got which one (these are high school and college boys mind you). And her photos are WAY better than mine as well as her execution and fabric selection. Okay, I was in a time crunch and decided against taking all four of my children to the store. I used the shower cap material!!

Butterflies at the Fair

The pre ballet girls were invited to perform at the county fair over Memorial Day weekend. M was very excited to wear her butteryfly costume and even more excited that she got to play with it afterwards.

She acted quite shy up on stage. I don't think she expected that many people to be watching her. It was so cute and she had fun.
